Eddie The Eagle is directed by Dexter Fletcher staring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman and tells the story of Eddie Edwards the underdog who never gives up and tries and tries so hard to prove him self to the world.
This mostly true adaptation, showed us that Dexter Fletcher whilst better known for his acting roles, is able to present very different styles by offering a kind, feel good, lighthearted film about the almighty struggle of Eddie the Eagle Edwards. In contrast to 2013's Sunshine on Leith and 2011's Wild Bill. The protagonist Eddie Edwards played by the up and coming Taron Egerton, presented audience members with a very different style of his acting abilities and showed a fearless brave representation of Mr Edwards. The way he portrayed him was truly in genius and fairly inventive, bearing in mind Egerton plays Eggsy a rather chavy international spy, so the contrast is something amazing. The film offered superb acting talent Hugh Jackman to Christopher Walken and surprised us with an impressive performance from the man behind the camera (Fletcher) and showed us that he can successfully create a nice, heartfelt film that tells the story of a living legend and emotionally touches audience members as it did me. For it's surprising appearance from Fletcher and great acting from Egerton and Jackman I am going to give Eddie The Eagle: 7.8/10
