10 Cloverfield Lane is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, staring all of three actors throughout the whole film, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher and John Goodman and is about a young girl who wakes up in a bunker after a car accident and is told she cannot leave because the air is un breathable and everyone is dead. But to pre warn you this is just another Cloverfield film not a sequel, prequel or reboot.
I'm going to start off by saying straight away that this film is one of the best films I personally have ever seen. The whole film for a start has an incredibly strong plot that holds itself perfectly from start to finish, There was suspense carried throughout the whole of the film and it really made the mood freaky and mysterious, also the fact that it is all building to a climax which really draws you into the screen as it did me since I was sat on the edge of my seat the whole film. Another aspect of the film that made is to amazing was the atmosphere. Wow this was absolutely incredible, and for me made the film; it was dark and tense with creepy long pauses and made it very claustrophobic like you were in this bunker with them.
I must say whist Goodman was oscar worthy in this film, with his psychotic character who created most of the films exposition and was so humongous that he made me the audience member feel week and powerless. Many people will agree that he gave of the best performance but I there was an actor more worthy of an oscar... and she goes by the name of Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She was flawless in this, and gave of one of the best performances I have ever seen. This is one of her first proper films, and the first film I have ever seen her in. Winstead gave of a phenomenal performance, she was scared and confused but also very curious towards the truth about the outside world. Something I admired so greatly about her character was that she wasn't dumb she was a very very intelligent character who worked tremendously as the films protagonist.
I'd just like to mention that this is the director's first film and my goodness congratulations, you're first creation quite possibly be an award winning classic.
For it's stunning acting, plot and atmosphere and for having virtually no special effects
I am going to give 10 Cloverfield Lane:
